I hadn't done a maternity session in a while, so I decided that the perfect person to take some photos of would be my cousin Sara's beautiful daughter, Nicole. So I asked her if she would like to do a session with me for fun, and she said yes! I picked my top five favorite to share on the blog tonight. I love the belly shots-- Nicole has a perfect, stretch-mark-free bump and if you look at her from the chest up, or from behind, you'd never guess she is expecting! Perfect little pregnant body! I hope I'll be lucky enough to have a cute little body like that when I have kids. So anyway, here are just a couple of images. :)

Viri + Ernest: Engagement Session in Wilmer
I'm really excited to share these because I love these images! Viri and I met on my first day at Garland High in my AP Spanish class. I happened to be sitting behind her, and she turned around and was like "So you're new? Where did you transfer from? What's your name? Do you like it here?" And I was thinking "Why is she asking me so many questions?" At that moment, I couldn't have guessed that we would have become such good friends and that she would grow to be one of my favorite people. Back then, I was 15 and she was 16. She was so adorably innocent to me, even though she is a year older than me. Super shy, and soft-spoken. My how she has changed! Haha. Now we're 21 and 22 and roommates in college. She is goofy, confident, not the least bit shy...and next year she'll marry the love of her life. Ernest is a perfect match for her, and if not for him, she would still be that quiet girl she used to be. They balance each other out perfectly, and are so passionately in love.
Even though Ernest hates (I'm not exaggerating) getting his picture taken, he was a good sport and I'm happy with the session. He's also been really awesome by referring me to his whole family! And you know I gotta love that ;)

Joel + Ava's Portraits at White Rock Lake
It's been a busy week! I'm glad though, because as long as I'm busy taking photos or editing, I'm happy. :) I'm really glad Reina asked me to take portraits of her kids, Joel and Ava this week. They're cute and were a lot of fun to get to know. We took the photos at a playground at White Rock Lake because I figured it would be the best way to keep Ava's attention and keep her laughing. It was a chilly morning, but after Joel and I chased her around a bit, we warmed up! It was Joel's 10th birthday, and he's a very mature and sweet boy. He helped me a lot with finding ways to get Ava to take a photo. She's two, so you know she didn't sit for very long! Still, it's one of my favorite ages to photograph because they're so hyper and fun. Anyway-- thanks a lot, Reina & Pete for trusting me to capture your adorable kids' personalities! Here are a few of my favorites.

Michniacki Engagement Session in Forney
It's been over a month since I've shared some new work. This is going to be the first of many posts in a short time, because with the exception of one day, I'm booked all Saturdays and Sundays until April 17th! I'm so thankful for all the referrals from friends. Your support means so much to me. The couple I'm featuring on my blog tonight is a referral from my good friend, Ashley, who I've known for four years now. We used to be yearbook photographers together and we had a lot of fun in high school taking pictures of just about everything! The Michniacki wedding is going to be a special experience for me because we'll be shooting the wedding together.
This couple is getting married very soon-- on April 9th! I did their engagement session last weekend in Forney. We started out in front of a tractor and made our way back to Chris's parents' beautiful home to get some photos at sunset in front of their pond. Christopher and Kelsey were a lot of fun to work with. They kept me laughing, and gave me the shots I love to capture. Smiles, laughs and genuine moments that illustrate the love they have for each other!
