Madeline's 1st Birthday Session!

Little Miss Madeline's session came about when her mom, Sua saw my cousin, Nicole's maternity session! She contacted me and we set a date right away. We decided to do the session at Kensington Heights Park, the new little playground in Rowlett that was put up in December. It has these adorable painted trees made of wood that face Kenwood Drive. Sua and Nicole know each other, but she and I had never met, nor had I ever seen a picture of little Madeline. So, when I pulled up and approached them, I was so excited to see how adorable Madeline is! First of all, look at her big beautiful eyes! And she makes the cutest faces when she laughs and smiles! It really was a joy meeting you, Sua. Thank you for booking with me. I hope you really enjoy these pictures of your daughter, because I adore them. :)

Ashley & Tatum's Mommy-Daughter Session in Royse City

Ashley is a very close friend of mine from high school. She is an overall awesome person. She's really funny, honest, kind and a talented photographer as well. When we were 17, we were pretty much attached at the hip. I had a class with her my junior year, and somehow we exchanged numbers. I remember early into the summer after, she texted me one day and we hung out and became close almost instantly. She is one of the best friends I've ever had, so when I moved away to college, I was sad because I knew our friendship would change. And it did. She was blessed with her beautiful little girl and I wasn't home to see much of it. However, these days, seeing her with Tatum is unbelievable. I don't know how she does it. She is amazing with her daughter. It makes me so happy and proud to know such a strong and beautiful woman and to be able to call her a friend.

Here are some of my favorite images from the day. Can you believe how gorgeous this little girl is?

Ashley is expecting another little baby this fall! Tatum is so smart and very excited to have a little brother or sister!
Tatum wasn't into any more pictures, so we had to take her back inside the truck. She threw a little fit, but when we got in the truck, Ashley put some music on and Tatum danced in the front seat by the wheel. Adorable.

There was a dog walking around outside, so this was Tatum telling me that there was a puppy outside. She kept saying "Pupppyyyy, pupppyyyy" into the lens. Haha.

Prado Proposal!

I love the way that sounds-- Prado Proposal.. makes me think of the movies The Proposal and The Devil Wears Prada.. haha! Sorry, I got side-tracked. Anyway...

On the morning of the Royal Wedding, I got a text from Jenn telling me that Rick was going to propose to her best friend, Michelle that evening and asked if I could photograph the occasion as a surprise! So that evening, I showed up at the Shops at Legacy in Plano and hid with the rest of the group. When Michelle and her sister, Mandy walked down toward the fountain, Rick walked to her (as I slyly approached from a different side), gave her a hug and some roses and got down on one knee. (!) It was so sweet. He gave her a gorrrrgeous ring and they hugged, kissed and were generally just adorable. I'm so happy to share these pictures and so glad that Jenn trusted me to get those moments locked down in images forever.

Congratulations, Michelle + Rick!

Holy Trinity Catholic Church/ Turner House Wedding

It's been three weeks since my last post! I have been crazy busy with school. Finals are next week, and I am just so glad it will be over. I have a few sessions and weddings I want to share, so I'm going to start by posting some wedding images tonight and I'll post again next Wednesday with another wedding. I'm really excited to be working with Nichole from Love Story Photography! I found her on weddingwire.com a few months back when I was trying to help a friend find a photographer for her wedding. (I was a bridesmaid, so I couldn't take the pictures!) Nichole was awesome at Steph's wedding and I really enjoy working with her. The pictures from tonight's post are from the first wedding I second-shot with her back in March. It was a Catholic ceremony at Holy Trinity Catholic Church and I have to say that it was such a pretty church. I love the images we got during the first look right out in front of the church. The reception was at Turner House in Oak Cliff. It's this beautiful old, historic house in Dallas. The whole wedding was very cute. They had tables decorated with flowers in vases and a blue-grass band playing music throughout the evening. Loved it! Hope you enjoy!
