Pamela and Nelson's August wedding at the historic Warwick Melrose Hotel was just as beautiful as it was fun. I didn't get the pleasure of meeting this couple until the day of, but I was definitely pleasantly surprised.
I can't get into details about this wedding until I first thank Courtney, from Diamond Doll Photography for sending them my way. Courtney is amazing with family portraits and she approached me with a genius idea. Personally, I enjoy photographing all things involving weddings (like bridals, engagements, day-after) and Courtney prefers to shoot children and families and also has a beautiful talent for photographing seniors. So, we decided that I will refer future family session inquiries to her, and she will refer weddings and wedding-related sessions to me. That being said, family, if you're reading this, I'm not saying I won't photograph you or your kids anymore. I love you guys :) But I'm saying, in general, I'd like to focus on wedding related sessions and if someone that isn't related to me or very close to me would like a family session, I will be sending them Courtney's way. I'm glad to say that I trust in her photographic ability100% and you will not be disappointed.
I also have to say that behind the scenes on this wedding day would not have run as smoothly without the help from Nichole at Love Story Photography! As many of you know, I often second-shoot for her at weddings, but this time, she helped me out by being my second-shooter. I have learned so much about the logistics of wedding photography from Nichole and this time that I needed her, she was there for me at every moment, prepared for everything. Thank you so much, Nichole!
Now, back to the photos... Pamela and Nelson were wed on the second floor terrance in front of 40 of their closest family and friends at the Warwick Melrose Hotel in Uptown Dallas in August. I have to say, having such an intimate group made their ceremony so sweet. I could tell from watching the guests interact both during the ceremony and at the reception that they each specifically chosen because they were special to the bride and groom and that's something that should be appreciated. More on Pam and Nelson's amazing guest list later when I blog images from their reception though. :) For now, I'll just stop typing and let you take the beautiful little details:
I took the photo on the left while Pamela's sister helped her put the finishing touches on her gown. We were a bit pressed for time, because the guests were filing outside to the ceremony site and it was scorching hot outside. I just really like her expression because I keep wondering what a bride's thoughts are minutes before she walks down the aisle... which reminds me, wait til you see her groom's face when he sees her :)
I love the images above and below. :)
And I'll leave you with that for now. Watch out for the next post, which will highlight Pamela and Nelson's ceremony and their reception at the original Dallas Truluck's :)
